We were one of those families handed 1 sheet of paper and sent on our way when our son was diagnosed. Any time a child is diagnosed with a special need, the family has far more questions and concerns than can be addressed with a single sheet of paper.

"Connections" is a catalog, available both printed and online, of products, services, and many other resources available for families of special needs kids.

I am very excited to support this project that helps caregivers navigate their way through finding resources to help address questions and concerns, and assist families in planning a positive and happy life for their child.

Our 11 yr old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes this weekend.

Bless her heart, she has to prick her fingers several times a day, and at least 4 shots a day,-- which she is strong enough to give them herself. She is Brave!
They allowed her to give me a shot when we were in the hospital this weekend.
She enjoyed that. Me..... not so much! But it was good practice.
I love my daughter and wish she didn't have diabetes, but we saw plenty of kids in the hospital who are in much worse situations. Some that may not survive.
So thank you God for a smaller, non life-threatening problem.
I'm not thrilled about it, but I'll take it.
